Description:
Beta Beta Beta - abbreviated as BBB, and more colloquially known as Tri-Beta - is a national honor society particularly for undergraduate students dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Since its inception, more than 175,000 persons have been inducted into lifetime membership and more than 430 chapters have been established throughout the United States and in Puerto Rico.
Through the course of the 2008-2009 school year, Tri-Beta plans to foster a stronger community spirit among undergraduate biology majors, provide more opportunities for interaction between biology majors and biology faculty, and enhance the undergraduate program at Johns Hopkins with various learning opportunities. We plan to do this via a speaker series, career planning dinners, student-faculty luncheons, social/outreach events, and a volunteering component.
