Description:
HARMONY is a program that aims to bring live music from the Johns Hopkins community to patients in a hospital/nursing home/hospice setting. We understand that living at a hospital can be a very distressing and lonesome experience and hope to be able to provide music in order to create a more bright and cheerful environment. In doing so, we hope to improve the physical, emotional and social quality of the patients' hospital stay. We understand that we are not professional music therapists who have had extensive training in the field. However, we intend to use entertainment as therapy. We believe this will form the foundation of a new type of interaction between students and patients via the gift of music.
