Description:
The purpose of Hawai’i Ohana is to provide a group that helps students from Hawai’i adapt to the new East Coast culture, as well as to introduce Hawaiian culture to others. In school, we study Asian history or read about various cultures in “Introduction to Social Studies.” But, other than pearl harbor and tourist articles, not much is known about truly growing up in Hawai’i. Therefore, we hope to spread this knowledge long-term through get togethers with students from a variety of locations, and host fun activities such as hula lessons, concerts and a luau.
