Description:
The CSC Dance Program is designed to enrich the lives of Baltimore City youth by exposing them to the art of dance. By means of weekly classes and occasional workshops during the school year, the CSC Dance Program introduces several dance styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, ballroom, and cultural dance. The CSC Dance Program helps provides structure to the after school schedules of Baltimore City youth; it also provides Baltimore City youth an outlet for the creativity that helps children develop mentally and emotionally. In addition to mental and emotional health, the CSC Dance Program promotes physical health through the athletic nature of dance itself, as well as through health workshops. It is the CSC Dance Program’s goal to serve the youth of Baltimore through the art of dance, and ultimately to develop a stronger sense of community and awareness between Baltimore and the Johns Hopkins University.
